Under Construction

Hey guys,

Sorry for messing up your webpage, but I'm currently trying to fix a few bugs with the whole page as I've mentioned in the shoutbox. I promise your page will have a new funky look by the end of the week hopefully.

And I couldn't even revert back to the original template because the interface for blogger.com is idiotic. But, hey, it's just not fancy, but it's useable. Also, the new blogger template interface is more user-friendly but less customizable, so I'm still figuring my way around it. Therefore, this is not the final product, and I'm welcoming any suggestions to blog design at this point.

Cheers,
Chau

Email Address Change

Hey guys,

Just to let you know, I've changed the official Kismis email address to kismisunited@gmail.com rather than the yahoo one. I've update the mailing address accordingly. The reason for this is that yahoo! mail has too much spam. I will be attending this mailbox. So any photos, updates or basically anything you want me to upload to the page, just email me there if you don't already have my msn contacts.

I'm still awaiting the team list from Jackson. And a written confirmation on what issues need to be polled on. Clearly I'm not there, I don't know what has/hasn't been discussed. Just so I can update the blog poll accordingly.

Plus, with a new team list for the season, I would need updated information (and photos) for the team list page. Please compile them Jackson and email them to me, or send via msn.

I might not be around to soccer with you guys, but I want to do all I can for this club, so please help me out. Thanks.

June 1 Street Soccer Tournament + Euro2008 Tournament

Euro2008 Human Football - http://www.scape.com.sg/gameon2008/01.html

and EA Sports UEFA Euro Tournament -
http://www.scape.com.sg/gameon2008/02.html

Hi once again

To save all the hassle there is no need for an application form. Simply email me your team name, the full names of your team members as well as their NRIC, and we will capture it into our system for you! The application fee of $25 can be paid on the spot. You might want to include a 6th member as a reserve we well.

The tournament will be open for all between the age of 15 to 35, open age category. Each match will last 10 minutes, 5 minutes per half. Depending on the number of teams, the tournament will be conducted in group stages format, with the top 2 teams advancing to the next knock-out rounds. The format of the tournament, however, are subject to changes depending on the response received.

Specific on the court rules are as such.
- Half court rule applies (cannot score from own court)
- Striker is forbidden from entering opponent's penalty area
- Goal keeper is restricted to his own penalty area at all times (one foot of the goalie muz be inside the penalty area)
- Yellow cards and red cards will be issued out for fouls, the severeity of which will be according to the discretion of the referee
- If a player is issued a red card, he will be ejected from the court permanently for the rest of the match, and the reserve player may be called into play. If a second red card is issued to the team, the team can choose to play with 4 players, or forfeit the match
- A penalty may be awarded for fouls committed, the severeity of which will be according to the referee's discretion. Fouls of such severeity include deliberate handball while defending, or hard defensive tackles which are deemed dangerous. The way a penalty will be taken, will be that of a one-touch format.
- If the group stages format is indeed used, 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a loss.
- In the case for a tie in points, head to head records will be considered before goal difference come into play.
- For the knock-out stages, if the scores cannot be settled within the 10 minutes of regulation time, a sudden death penalty shoot out will ensue
- A substitution can only be made at half time, or at the end of the 10 minutes of regulation time (if the team wishes to sub in a player in the case that a oenalty shootout is required)
Please feel free to email me if you have any other queries. Hope to see your team down on june 1 ! Thank you.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your enthusiasm!

As part of an initiative by the youth executive committee as part of the annual major project organised by the committee, where a carnival and band gigs can be expected. The tournament format is subject to changes as much depends on the response and the number of teams who sign up, but tentatively it will be in group stages where the top 2 teams will advance to the next stage, sort of a champions league format. The tournament will start around 5pm.

nope it will not be any officials from the FAS. The whole event will be organised and manned by youths, so the referee will most probably be from the youth committee. But rest assured that have full confidence in the abilities of the referee chosen!

$600 worth of prizes (sports vouchers) are up for grabs, with the top team receiving $300, the runners-up $200 and the third placed team receiving $100.

It would be appreciated if you could spread the word and encourage more teams to take part. And do join us for a day of fun and laughter at the carnival!

Thank you once again!

Regards

I won't be joining due to work as I got day on Tuesday and Saturday I can't ask for other day off

17 May 08: Match Day @ Singapore Poly

Hiya ppl

Last week everyone woke up early, braved the rain and keep on time for our important interview with TNP. Woohoo, we are gonna appear on The New Paper - Weekend Warriors. I guess everyone will b anxious to read up on that article. Now, i have to buy a copy of TNP everyday juz bcos of this...

The interview went on well, lotsa important info on Kismis United should be reported and hopefully that will boost the popularity and status of the team. Heard from Jackson that they took more than a hundred over shots of our guys playing & such. Hehe, dunno how many actually make it up on the article lor... Btw, a great thanks to everyone who shown up early for the whole thingy and played their part for Kismis. Special thanks to Jackson for the arrangement. Only regret is for those oldies who couldnt make it for this interview, their attendance will mean so much to the team... Too bad...

After the interview, we went on for our normal soccer game. Had a bit of discussion on the direction of our team over lunch. Topic is whether we are happy with what we are playing right now or do we need to re-org the way we play and go towards achieving something.

The current situation will be sticking to what we are doing, enjoy our Sat football, play the causal relaxing game. We'll still go to competitions with whoever is available. Welcome players who wanna join us for our games. Or do we wanna select a group of players from our current group to go for competitions. Every week they'll stick onto the same group and play against the rest. Improving on teamwork and the chemistry between the players. This first team will represent Kismis for any upcoming events. (Can Chris do a poll/vote for this?)

Btw, on a personal note, I m very contented with what i see at Kismis every Sat. I enjoy my games and i have no pressure playing my football. I still get to play with the better players in Kismis and there are times, where i team up with the lesser guys. But i still enjoy my game. Whether my name is the first to be in any competitions that we are going, doesnt matter to me at all. As long as Kismis is represented by any of us, i'll b proud and supportive. I believe we are and we still can improve with the current situation. Kismis started off as a friends' club, a place to gather & have fun. I'll love to keep it that way but the priority is given to every member's welfare and goals. We'll vote and we'll decide it we wanna change. (Juz my personal thought on the topic)

Would love to hear from everyone. Pls tag and let us knw your opinions.

Happy soccering...

10 May 08: Match Day @ Singapore Poly

Hiya ppl,

Wow, 2 games in 3 days for some of our guys. Midweek fixture with our old boys and a regular weekend game. Bet you guys must be really worn out. Too bad i got my ankle whacked else i'll b in for tat too.

Our game last Thurs saw a surprise return of many of our oldies. Not that they r retired or put into the old folks home but rather they'd been missing from our regular game for ages. Good to have them back for a kick around, make their old bones tickle a bit once in awhile also good. Well seems like most of them havent lose their touches and their senses, haha... Juz to hope to see them more regularly in the upcoming games. By late May, most of the exams should b over. Hopefully tos in army will also return for regular games.

Sat's game, i wasnt there... But i guess it should b well and as usual bah. Didnt hear much feedback from Jackson. Well, no feedback is the best for most cases.

Weichong was suggesting that we could play our games at NTU too. Well that can be arranged also. I guess it is fine to move around once awhile to try the different places and test out the locals there. Cant stay stagnant at a place for too long, very unhealthy. Weichong do a reece of the place and let us know when to go bah. Cos we are catering for more than 12pax at least so make sure NTU aint too crowded.

We also had a discussion to move our Sat games to a later timing on Sat, mayb starting at 3-4pm, ending at around 7pm. Weather will be cooler and also there'll be an excuse for everyone to wake up later on Saturdays. Probably we'll be able to see a return of a few players bcos of the change. Problems faced will be timing as Sat is almost burnt liao. Of cos, the field players will feel the 'siong' as they have soccer the next day too. Then also mayb certains may not be able to make it also. But we'll still keep this idea in mind lah, hopefully can come up with a better solution to make all ends meet.

Meanwhile, happy soccering...

Blog Update

Hey guys,

I've updated the information and style of the left sidebar (Jackson, I hope you don't mind having your number on the weblog main page. Eric, I can put yours up too if you don't mind as well, let me know.) However, do we want to be known as 'street soccer' team or 'futsal'? Because I see the latter being thrown around in the latest chats alot. I have also reactivated the club email after it got de-activated because I haven't check it in a while. Sorry about that, but it's up now.

The sidebar looks fine on both my latest Mozilla Firefox and IE browsers (looks 10x better on IE though), but if anyone has trouble viewing the blog, do tag or contact me. And I know I promised to fix that poor-resolution, ugly blog header for a while now; I've been really busy with work, so please be patient.

Also, I'm welcoming any photos of the team so I can design and put up a new background. And finally, those whose handsome faces/names are missing in the team list, please email them to me at the kismis email address. kthanks.

Your webmaster,
Chau
