5 May 07: Match Day @ Singapore Poly

Hiya ppl~

Today is Tuesday, bloggin day... I guess tday's posting will be much awaited for a few ppl. Be it for good or bad reasons. (Will there be a game or will it b a war going on?) After a series of 'trouble', we are hit with another wave of it yet again. But no matter what the decisions are, be fair and responsible for yourself and Kismis Utd. Dnt bring the previous week's history into the next. N i'll say Dnt come n spoil other's mood if you think you aint ready to play a gentleman's game that day. Ben mentioned that Kismis is a family, yes we always are. If anyone wont b unhappy playing, juz stay out for that week & take a breather lor. Return happy and recharged. Every wk continue to play can be quite 'sian' and frustrating for some, tat i understand.

Our 'eventful' trip to NUS... World tour? Are we ready for that? Well, after what happened last Sat at NUS and what followed on the blog. It seems like not everyone shares a common understanding for a lot of things. Was it due to poor communication among our kismis ppl, dunno how to read blog or was it some comments tat was made? Lets not trying to hide away from facts and be ready to accept things. Mistakes are made at NUS. (Really dunno to love or hate tis place, haiz...)

We arrived earlier than usual at NUS, more than 1hr earlier with lotsa buddies still caught wif sleepy eyes. Reason is that we thought NUS will b packed, we wanna secure a court and to at least give our own ppl priority of getting a game first. (Many of us have bad memories of that place, how tos buggers there come in & 'rob' ppl...) Many of us made it in time and we r glad to have a court to play among ourselves. (But hor, we totally forget tat NUS is having exams what, where got crowd one?) So comfortable 6v6 or 7v7 at tt point of time... N when the crowd slowly flows in, there are still many other courts available and naturally, people will wanna play among ppl they know or get their own turf. (We did reject a few teams but they r fine wif it, =D) Then came the 'most exciting' part of our NUS world tour, we got challengers. A big lorry full of them, wah (Abt 10 or more)... Yes, world tour is about challenging others but not when you have abt 18 ppl in ya team! Split 3 teams, okie but we try not to... Mistake 1: Didnt expect the sudden good response of our Kismis turnout. Lotsa ppl brought frds and missing players returning. So we aint really ready for challengers. Mistake 2: Everyone thought Shawn brought tos lorry of ppl for the game. Even me also thought so. A quick refer to the previous blog, Shawn is actually alone. Tos r his friends but aint really his lorry of ppl. So end up, Mistake 3: our unpleasent shout out incident. WC aint aware, he is just doing his part for Kismis. Due to lack of communications, we took for granted tat tos ppl tat knows Shawn are generally his lorry of ppl. But also due to t fact that they came in and are ready to join in, we have to lan-lan and let them come in lor. Reason very simple, cause frds that know Shawn mah, must give face also... (Diff between Shawn's frd & frds that know Shawn) Tats y Fiq & I say come in lor what to do. Can understand the feelings of why WC and a few others got so unhappy, i felt the same also. Came early to play, playing happily, end up game ganna interrupted again... But if things were made clear then, we would have rejected them the 3rd team cos we'd abt 18ppl on our side then. 9v9 is juz nice in NUS. And then came a rough n physical game with ppl being unhappy over incidents then happened b4 and during the game. Our great lads braved up to the challenge but due to crazy rotation of players (Cause we have too much ppl on the sidelines), we end up in a mess and eventually lost the game. I think a few players also didnt get to play much tat day, so paiseh... Mistake 4: I also very paiseh that i neglect/nver cater for the fact of having such a big crowd and not informing everyone. We are all ready to challenge NUS ppl tat day but suddenly change of plans...

But all ends well, everyone is happy at t end of the day... We played at NUS again (Definitely a nice place minus tos ppl), we have a crackin' 5hrs game(Woot~) & we did try our best to come together as a team and stand up for each other b4 & after tt game. We should try to boost up our Kismis moral and not get affected by other ppl's comments and unfair criticism. We gotta see for ourselves to make any judgement. N from the incident, althought we are there to see, we also made mistakes. So who are tos who aint involved? But all tis r not impt at all. Getting the mindset right should b it. Everyone here is for Kismis, we made up Kismis & we are Kismis. When we go, we go as a team & when we return, not a man less.

Side note: I'd spoken to Shawn n WC. Shawn says he is relac abt t whole thing. WC is also very calm. So i shouldnt b expecting to see anymore paper war on the tag!!! Who ever wanna continue to bring up t incident will b a troublemaker, a stir-er of Kismis~ All this for t sake of Kismis Utd, fair enough?!?

So... This coming Sat, we enjoy our game bubbly, happily at SP... (Let me continue to suan tos goalpost fanatics... Hahaha...) :p Well ya, expecting a larger crowd at SP tis Sat. Spoken to a few ppl & i think they verbally say okie liao... Expecting Mr Jon-'PesE'-D to return frm overseas also. Our scholars frm NUS should also return. Regulars should also b there. Woohoo, tos goalpost fanatics also, ahaha... Jacky will b out cos injured, Denn should b having exams. So a rought estimate will bring us to another 16-18 again. SP is definitely too small for tat. We'll shift the goalpost back to make t court larger & if necessary, 3 teams (Not advisable)... N if really too many ppl, we'll shift back to Kismis to play...

28 April 07: Match Day @ NUS + Event

Hiya ppl~!

Yet another wk passes by on Kismis calender. This coming Sat will be the last game of April 07 liao (More than one third of the yr alreadi gone liao)... And we enter the dreaded month of May, we'll be expecting some turbulance, yikes... Like real man -> Exams, sch reopens, army commitment, work, etc... Hang in there guys~! By June, it will be sch holidays & the returning of many players liao... Not forgetting my Tourney also~!

Last Sat's soccer game is at old Kismis Home Grd. As usual, we did what we always do best, coming to Kismis late! Haha, but it's okie la, it'd become a return-to-Kismis-must-do-thing... We played a simple 6v6 and have a taste of the old court. Play has become wider due to the spacious court, with more running and long crosses. All went well until our dear Mr Ball decided to start farting. Yes, he hissssss-ed... What nice timing lor... But heng and also not so heng, we got a spare bolla which turns out to be a nightmare. Goddamn, it's a size 4!!! Wtf lor, okie, maybe it's juz me, but it's uber small & uber hard also... I cant recall who ganna tos cannonball treatments but surely someone did! Lolz...

World Tour continues tis coming Sat, we should b heading down to long awaited NUS bah... News frm Chau & Ian that NUS aint available for bookings unless it's by tos clubs/society there. Okie then we have to go down & share the place with others liao. (Remember the last time when we went there to humiliate tos losers who die die wanna share our court? Tsk tsk, we r coming back for more!) We have also learnt that going there early doesnt serve much use at all, NUS ppl cant seems to understand Unique Singapore's Law No. 1 - FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE~! Tos retards juz wanna 'share' the court... Fark them first... (Thx Ian for offering to camp there in the morning, now you know why i told you, dnt bother liao) But nonetheless, we still go earlier than our usual timing bah... King had already booked Kismis for us anyway, so we use tat as our back-up plan lor, thx King.

Well, one sad issue this week. Sad to hear that we had some players who are interested in playing at places with goalposts only. Henceforth know as goalpost fanatics. They worship goalposts only and will appear for games with goalposts available. Sad to say but is soccer about passion for the game or it is about tos holy-bars that 'let' u put your balls into them??? So i guess i am right to say, we will not see these goalpost fanatics set foot in Kismis, as our Home Grd lacks these sacred metal poles. But be sure to see them do their prilgrimage to SP, NUS, Henderson bah... Hahaha... But nonetheless, they will still be welcome to join our games lor. We will not stop anyone who wanna play. The more the merrier aint it?

Football is a sacred game, world cup is our holy grail...

Remarks: This is a overnite-cycling event organised by one of my social centre. Interested cyclists must have their own bicycles. As this is an overnite event, prep up some light snacks & water for the journey. Ride starts YCK-Mandai-Kranji-LCK-Jurong-Pasir Panjang-Harborfrnt-National Stadium-ECP (ending). A very causal and relaxing ride la with pit-stops along the way. Safety vechicle behind also... =) Pls contact me for more detail!

21 April 07: Match Day @ Kismis

Wazzup pplz~

After 2 wks of travelling, how you ppl feeling? Tired? Sian? Or miss 'home'? Singapore Poly does have the advantage of having the goal posts there. But mayb becos of the small size pitch, 7v7 may be a bit too cramped. Guess we have to work on 3 teams if we were to travel there again. Got feedback on that, i'll b looking into the matter. =) Btw, news from King is that we may not be able to get hold of Kismis court soon, he'd graduated & no one there to help book the courts le... So how? We abundon our Home or we stand guard of our fortress and fend off any intruders (NP students & lecturers)? Mmm...

Last Sat, we got ourselves 15 players down at SP. Nice turnout... We played 7v8... N mayb becos of the restricted space, there r a few 'collisions' on the pitch. Players banging into each other more often and tackles flying in faster than expected. But all is well & for gd cause lah, what is a soccer game with guys playing like pussies? No bad feelings, everyone enjoyed it. We are also 'blessed' with a wonderful hot burning sun, soaking everyone wet and dry then wet again. More water breaks then usual... No complains lah, better than rain rite?

So this coming Sat, we are going back Home, to a place where we belong... Ahem... Ya, we'll b back at Kismis Courts! Sry to those 'goal post' ppl, haha, we need to play cone again hor... N u bloody know t reasons why, hehe... Hopefully another good turn out again, so far so good lor. I m expecting a few players to return to add to the numbers again (Dnt gimme excuses again).

Oh another couple of news to add. This coming 10 June, Eric's Soccer Tourney is back again. I'm planning for the tourney to be held at St Wilfrid tis time! 5-aside artificial field! I'll be reserving 2 slots for Kismis Utd, one for the Street Team & another for the Field Team. I'm still working with the SSC and FAS to settle some issues rite now, so stay tune for updates! Another news, will be our 'World Tour' to NUS next week, will the dear NUS ppl please help us book the courts? I know u all r busy with exams but i think a small favour like that for Kismis aint gonna take up too much time rite? Please get back to me asap. Thx.

14 April 07: Match Day @ Singapore Poly

Hey O, ppl~!

Another great weekend passes by... Soccering w/ Kismis had got back into shape. We are getting to move around, more players involved & more fun then ever... Well, players r now more responsive liao, automatically everyone (Well almost all, except for tat few u know who...) will drop msgs and update me about their availability. Tats what i call responsibility n ownership to Kismis (Well to tos losers who doubted, too bad...)

Last Sat, hey another good turn-out... 6v7 wor~! N to consider tat we are still missing lotsa Kismis Utd players, we might get a 'sell-out crowd' if every Kismis citizen returns, imagine 20-30 pax!!! Well 'passed' our first 'test' in Singapore Poly, the 'Horrid security di-siao-siao test'!!! No one came n mess around wif us wor... Okie okie, except for tat few chio bu(s) who t took extra peeps at tos 15 hot sweat bodies running after a ball la... SP had been nice to us, got drinks, got cooler, got goalpost, got shower... But cursed weather~! (Okie, no controls over tat la...) So as our 'World Tour' carry-on, we'll make another trip to SP tis coming Sat, juz to let t others have a feel of t place also... PS: Tos who were there last Sat, gave gd comments... =) But of cos, we should not forgot our roots, our home-grd KISMIS COURTS! We'll be there at least 2 twice per month, juz to savor the moments n momeries there...

Seeing lotsa 'alien' names popping out on our list recently? Well... Gotta really thanks Jackson again for bringing in new talents n players who r really eager to play for Kismis no matter what reasons. Kismis juz need these committed players to keep going, cant rely too much on 'others'... We'll b expecting to see more players lining up in our squad soon... Also to King's friends Jianwen n Samuel, they r becoming regulars too. Another also regulars like Zhihao & Benny... Btw, we should b welcoming back Jiayong (Kismis Utd super-duper old timer) soon. N if things does get well for the field team, mayb Fiq will allow a few field players to join us also... So from now onwards, i'll try not to use 'blah blah's friend', we should try to know each other's name... It's getting merrier week after week...

Well done lads,

For the 2nd week, the response has really been real good!!! Dnt slip... Well, i'm posting this on a Monday evening cos i aint got time to post it tml or any later... More time for u guys to 'think' abt coming for soccer also la...

Last Sat, it's 7v8 @ Kismis again... N then, it's cross-court thingy again... Entertaining indeed... This time round, we are definitely more prep-up for cross-court. No more excuses of being tired n shagged out le... Another thanks to Jackson and King again for continually bringing friends down to make things happen for us... Intruders: Cross-court tat day wont happen if those cricket ppl refuse to move to another court also... Luckily for us, they r nice enuff... Seems like Kismis court do get 'chop' by others once in awhile... Gotta really act fast to this... Heard frm King tat tis coming wk-end, someone 'chopped' the place in front us liao... (Reminds me of tos tissue paper on seats at food centres >.<") So how?!? Relac lah... So tis week we go to SP lor... Since it's also part of our initial plan to move around the places and meet new losers(I meant opponents) along the way... We r definitely rdy to take on any team in the way lor... U boys ready??? We'll start off our 'WORLD TOUR', first stop Singapore Poly. (Of cos, we are not forgetting our beloved Kismis Courts, we'll b back when it is available again... ) Then mayb after that, we go to NUS, Henderson, St Wilfrid, etc... The SP courts r available according to Alvin (Jackson's friend)... Sat usually not much ppl there... Somemore tat place had got goalposts... Juz pray hard tos security guards dnt play punk wif us over there!!! Screw them first!!! I think Jacky, Erwin (If this #%&# ever visit this blog) & i will b very familiar wif the place... (3 fuking yrs)

Venue: Singapore Polytechnic Courts (Stadium)
How to get there: The courts are juz beside the stadium. Next to the Alumni Club Hse. Parking is plenty there at FC6, stadium carpark, etc... Take MRT/bus, alight and walk towards the stadium. (Sure can find de) Cannot find, open mouth ask ppl there...
Others: Shower facilities, drinks machine, chio bu(s) available... ^.^

Other outstanding issues will be the portable goalposts for Kismis. Will someone get their hands on this n come back to me, thx??? The other issue will be the mess up of our kismis blog. Okie, i spoken to Fiq, it's juz a misunderstanding. The field team will have their own blog and they most prob wont post here... (Seems like they aint gonna touch court at all) In tat case, they wont have any reasons to come here... But i'll still kindly post the field games location here, cos we r 'allowed' to join them... It's aint gonna b nice but what to do??? It does give you the feeling of having two related families under one roof at times but sadly no contacts... Sigh~
